Care Group

This group exists to welcome new residents to the village and to keep everyone aware of
where to turn for assistance and information. Apart from visiting new arrivals and giving
them copies of our Welcome leaflet, we run a team of volunteer drivers who can provide
transport to hospital or Health Centre. No charge is made but donations are always
welcome as this enables us to reimburse petrol costs.
We also promote Stowmarket Food Bank, and boxes for donations of food and household
necessities may be found at the Village Hall and in St. Andrew's Church.
We always welcome new members (including non-drivers) who are willing to give support in
our on-going efforts to ensure that the village is a neighbourly place where no-one need feel isolated. Contact names and phone numbers are usually in the monthly village Newsletter.

We need more help!

Several people over the last month have needed help with journeys to local G.P's and hospitals. We have only a few drivers on our list and would be grateful for more volunteers.  It probably works out at one journey each per month - not too difficult.

We also need a co-ordinator so we can give Ali a break. She has been doing it for several years. This would involve picking up phone requests for help and ringing round
to find a driver.

For more information please ring either Sheila  or Sue.
