Care Group

For anyone who is self-isolating, ill or unable to leave the house we have a list of people who have volunteered to do your shopping for you. If this is required please contact one of the coordinators who will put you in touch with a neighbouring volunteer:

Margaret Jones-Evans: 767121       Liz and Pete Davidson: 766622

Jenny and Will Elphick: 766885      Nigel and Sue Merriam: 766222.

Updates from within the village will be put on the notice board and also sent out by email. If you have internet access and are not receiving these please contact nhmerriam@btconnect.com

As so often happens, situations like this can provide an opportunity for unscrupulous people to operate. We have heard instances where fraudsters have offered to shop, taking the money and not returning. We suggest you pay for the shopping when it is delivered. Also suspicious phone calls have started on a similar line, please be aware!

The Stoke Ash White Horse is providing a “take away” service during the crisis. They will prepare meals – just phone 01379 678222 - discuss your order, and then collect at the agreed time. The Four Horseshoes and the Trowel and Hammer are also offering similar service, some including delivery.

Sam at Knoll Farm has offered assistance, should anyone require pets/ livestock to be taken to the vets, whilst they are self-quarantined or in the unfortunate event of them contracting the virus. Phone 07742 450908 and see next page.

Please get in touch if you need help or have questions.

Nigel & Sue Merriam.  Tel 766222

After working so hard for the Care Group, Ali has now left Wickham and moved to Southwold.  We are really grateful for all she has done.
However, Leigh Wyman has volunteered to take her place, and if anyone needs a driver for the doctors, hospital, etc. please phone him to arrange it.

For those new to the village:- we have a list of drivers to help those without transport. Anyone who feels they have occasional time to spare, please let us know.
