Alan Lummis

We hope the news has reached everyone by now that Alan Lummis died peacefully in his sleep in Bluebird Lodge.  His funeral will be on Monday 10thDecember at 12 noon, all welcome.  Parking will be available on Richard & Alice Palmer’s field.  To give this son of the village, and a real gentleman, a ‘proper village funeral’ the service will be followed by refreshments in the Village Hall.  If you would like to contribute a plate of something suitable for a buffet lunch it would be much appreciated. The Hall will be unlocked by 9.30am on the day for you to deliver things.  If anyone would be prepared to help by co-ordinating things and helping to set up the tables etc or to help in the kitchen, please let me know as Margaret & I will be involved at the church by mid-morning.  Many thanks, Liz D

Grimmer Working Party

On Saturday 15th December there will be the first of this winter's work parties on the Green starting at 9:30am. Hopefully to be completed by 12 noon. We have some smaller tasks to complete as well as the felling of ash which have contracted 'die-back' and need taking down before they become dangerous. Please bring tools-cutting, lopping and gloves- if you have them or just muscle power. Information from Kevin 767708 (on behalf of Parish Council)

Food Bank

With Christmas and the school holidays fast approaching, any contributions for the food bank will be especially welcome.

They will be needed by the second week of December if possible.
Donations can be left in the village hall, the church, or in my porch.
