October Floods

The Parish Council would like to thank all who helped during the floods of 20/21 October, particularly to those in four-wheel drive vehicles who helped ferry people from schools or stranded vehicles, and to those who gave tea and toilet facilities to stranded motorists. Our sympathy to everyone who has been affected by floods or suffered damage. Please access Suffolk County Council’s (SCC) website here for further information about flood recovery: https://www.suffolk.gov.uk/about/flood-recovery-information-for-suffolk

SCC are asking all affected residents to report significant flooding to individual properties by using the Highways Reporting Tool at https://www.suffolk.gov.uk/roads-and-transport/highway-maintenance/report-a-highways-issue. If you do not have access to the internet, call the SCC customer service number: 0345 606 6171.

The Street was particularly badly affected with abandoned and broken-down cars and people sleeping in their vehicles. Verges have been worn away and silt, gravel and debris covered the carriageway. We have reported this in on the Highways link  and have been promised repair work within 20 days.
